About Me
I am a qualified Dance Movement Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with over two decades of experience working with adults and children in different educational and social care setting as well as in private practice.
I am a fully registered member of the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMP UK) and my work is guided by their code of ethics and practice.
I came to London nearly 30 years ago to train as a dancer but soon realised that my interest in dance and movement was of a more personal and relational nature. The possibility to combine my love for movement and dance with the field of psychotherapy was an exciting prospect and I subsequently started my training as a therapist at the Laban Centre in London.

My Approach
My psychotherapeutic practice is rooted in psychodynamic theory, with a curiosity in how significant past experiences and relationships shape who we are and how we relate to ourselves and the world around us. However, over the years my curiosity has taken me further afield and other tools, theories and experiences have become integrated in my work. Attachment theory, systemic theory and developmental psychology are strong cornerstones of my practice and over the last few years I have become more and more interested in the relationship between trauma and the body. Lastly, but maybe most importantly, my therapeutic practice has been shaped by clients themselves: their lived experience and learning what they have found most helpful.
I have benefitted from working in diverse settings, such as a community mental health centre, a family assessment unit, primary and secondary schools, a school for children with profound and multiple learning needs as well as in private practice. I grew up in Germany and have fluency in German and English.
I am currently working in private practice as well as a clinical supervisor for 'Place2Be', a children's mental health charity. I enjoy working with clients across the life span. My work with adults tends to be more verbal and movement based, led by my clients' needs. Whereas my work with children and adolescents includes the broader spectrum of creative arts, such as play, drama, art as well as creative movement.
